Emobots

Emobots are Companion Artefacts for stressed adolescents and adults that function as emotional support to decrease social isolation and anxiety. We assist in fostering a balanced lifestyle that promotes a healthy attitude towards coping with life immersed in networked technology. If you are seeking ways to proactively engage with the IRL world without the distractions of electronic devices and cyberspace, we may have a solution for you.

Emobot Prototyping Principle

Emobots are designed to relieve stress, promote relaxation and provide emotional support for those who regularly navigate through a screen-driven world.
The prototyping for these specific Companion Artefacts take into consideration the following questions:

  • Is technology not essential for survival but necessary to thrive?
  • Can we go offline without giving up technology and without feeling tethered to online obligations?
  • How is 24/7 connectivity affecting personal relationships and how much of it can be decreased?
  • What kind of modern addictions create distractions in connecting with others?
  • How do we sustain human connection and build trust through screen-based relationships?
  • How many technologically unassisted decisions can we make and how much do we rely on it?
  • How do we prevent involuntary social isolation and increase emotional stability?
